Low E Insulated Glass

Insulating glass refers to two or more lites of glass sealed around the edges with a perimeter spacer creating a cavity between to form a single unit. Commonly referred to as an ‘IG unit” or"IGU", insulating glass is the most effective way to reduce air-to-air thermal transfer through glazing. When used in conjunction with low emissivity and/or reflective coatings, IG units become effective means to conserve energy and comply with energy regulations. Low-emissivity coatings have gradually become better at reducing air-to-air heat transfer.

Advantages of Low E Coating

Low E Glass Reduce Energy Costs
Low-E glass has an invisible coating that reflects long-wave infra-red radiations towards the interior of the building. They keep the interiors cooler in summer and warmer in winter months; effectively decreasing the use of energy appliances by controlling the indoor temperature.

Low E Glass Reduce Destructive UV Rays
Because it resists ultraviolet light, low-E glass prevents sunlight exposure from damaging carpets, draperies, sofas and other furnishings.

low-E Glass Reduces Sunlight Glare
The coatings reduce glare and reflect the sun’s heat away from the structure.

Low E Glass Do Not Block All Natural Light
Low E windows block infrared light and UV light, but one other vital component makes up the solar spectrum, visible light. Of course, they will reduce visible light slightly, compared to a clear glass pane. However, plenty of natural light will brighten your room.

Low E Glass Reducing Electricity
They help in reducing electricity bills, as they maintain the temperature of the room at the desired level.

Double Glazed Glass vs Single Panel Glass

Structure
Double glazed glass are those which consist of two or more glass panes with a gas-filled between them. On the other hand, single panel glass have a single pane in its structure.

Energy Efficiency
Unlike double glazed glass, singel panel glass do not resist heat. Their insulation ability is not resistant enough to protect the room or building from weather. This allows heat to enter more than it would from an insulated glass. Insulated glass protects the surroundings from heat.

Noise Insulation

This is another notable difference between these two categories of glass. Insulated glass can be used as a fence for noise reduction. Their efficient structure enables them to prevent noise from reaching your room. Single panel glass lacks this ability. Its structure does not provide noise reduction quality.

Security

Theinsulated glass can have a vacuum, krypton, or argon gas in between them. This enables it to resist the pressure exerted on it. It is not easy to break through insulated glass and windows. Whereas the single panel glass windows and doors are comparatively easier to break and shatter into pieces. This difference makes insulated glass a better option for our residential and working places.
