6mm Tempered Glass
Toughened glass, also known as tempered glass is made through a process which involves controlled high temperatures in a tempering oven. This process gives the glass a special feature (balanced internal stress) which strengthens the glass. It is 5 times stronger than a normal glass sheet of the same thickness. In the case of abnormal tension or pressure which exceeds its strength, the glass will simply crumble down into small cubes unlike other window glass which breaks into sharp pieces that can cause serious injuries. Its fragments are less likely to cause serious injuries. This qualifies toughened glass to be categorized as a safety glass.

Tempered Vs. Annealed Glass
Annealed Glass
The creation of annealed glass involves a specific glass-cooling process. It is also referred to as non-tempered and float glass. After the annealing process is complete, the glass can be cut, drilled, or polished without the risk of inducing internal stresses that could cause it to shatter. If annealed glass breaks for any other reason, however, it results in long, jagged shards. As a result, it’s used for jobs in which high strength and safety are not key concerns.
Tempered Glass
Tempered glass is sometimes referred to as toughened glass, as it takes annealed glass and makes it stronger by heating it to roughly 700° Celsius (1,200° Fahrenheit) and then force-cools it at an accelerated rate, depending on the properties desired in the finished glass product. The result is glass with a higher surface compression (>10,000 psi) that is 4 to 5 times stronger to resist breakage, has less chance of thermal stress break, and when damaged, creates small fragments rather than dangerous shards. Tempered glass is a popular option when safety is a main objective or requirement.
